The recent Porter Research/ Billian's HealthDATA webinar on providers' perceptions of Health Information Exchange attracted more than 500 registrants, proving what a popular topic this is for the healthcare industry. The presentation featured guest speakers Cynthia Porter, President of Porter Research, Allison Norfleet, Vice President of Business Development at Porter Research/Billian's HealthDATA, and Guy McAllister, Chief Information Officer at Tift Regional Medical Center, a not-for-profit community hospital serving 12 counties. It dove into the results of a hospital executive study conducted by Porter Research and Billian's HealthDATA in October 2010.
The study and webinar addressed:
- Concerns, challenges, and roadblocks;
- Tangible benefits of HIE;
- Health IT vendor preparedness;
- Impact of the HITECH Act and meaningful use legislation on HIE strategy and planning;
- and details of Tift Regional Medical Center's experience with HIE.
